Introduction to the YES Program Scholarship
The U.S. Department of State’s Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program offers high school students the incredible opportunity to spend an academic year as exchange students in the United States. This prestigious program allows students to attend a U.S. high school, live with an American host family, and engage in extracurricular activities alongside American classmates.
As part of the YES Program, students participate in various enrichment activities such as community service, youth leadership training, and cultural exchange programs. The goal is to enhance students’ understanding of American culture while giving them the opportunity to share their own rich Pakistani heritage as cultural ambassadors.
Since its inception in 2003, the YES Program has granted scholarships to over 1,500 high school students from Pakistan, empowering them to develop leadership skills and foster cross-cultural understanding. The program is implemented by the Society for International Education and iEARN-Pakistan, in collaboration with American Councils for International Education.
